Tips of keeping your home clean

Keeping your home clean is something we all want to do as long as possible. Some of us, however, have homes that seem to attract dirt and pests and it doesn’t seem to take much effort to keep them clean. I think this comes from being in a place where we have the temptation to be more active than other people, to cook, or to clean, rather than relax. It’s our responsibility though to make sure we do things correctly to keep our homes clean.

Tips of keeping your home clean

The main tip to keep your home clean is to be organized. Don’t be tempted to just throw things in bins and leave them there. This is the worst way to organize your home. You should categorize everything by purpose and place them in the appropriate rooms. If you don’t, you’ll find it hard to remember what you should be dusting butting out.

One way to do this is to create a list of places for dusting. This is very similar to a ‘manage and measures’ system you might use for your kitchen. You should then go round each room and dust every place in the order you need it. If you do it this way then it will become second nature to you quickly.

Maintaining the cleanliness of the rooms can also help with keeping dusting under control. Clean your bed linen regularly, especially if you have children. Dust pillows and covers and perhaps even remove them for a night before you go to sleep. This is an easy way to improve the cleanliness of your bed.

If you have pets, you should also consider how to keep them spooked so that they don’t wander about the house looking for dust or other animal dander. There are many products on the market to help you with this. Dusting fabric items regularly is another simple and effective way to reduce the amount of fur that ends up as dust in the house. This will also make it much easier to vacuum out the carpet. Don’t forget about your rugs too!

Making sure that there are no cobwebs in the house is another good way to maintain cleanliness in your home. Cobwebs are the worst when it comes to getting into tiny crevices. They hide in tiny spaces and are particularly noticeable when you have light colors or furniture made of synthetic materials. Make sure you vacuum your carpet regularly and if you have plush carpets or area rugs, be sure to give them a brush down once a week.

Tips to keep your home clean also include frequent cleaning. Don’t think that just because you’ve been going to the same place to clean, you’re not going to keep the house clean. It’s important that you move everything on a regular basis to prevent cobwebs from building up. Be sure to also clean the vacuum cleaner often. The brushes on some vacuum cleaners can collect a lot of dust and dirt, so be sure to keep your cleaners spotless at all times.

While you’ve been looking for more tips on keeping your home clean, you may have also wondered how you could keep your clothes from getting so dirty. A great place to look is in the dryer. Most people never really think about that setting, but your clothes are taking a lot of wear from the dryer. They are taking a lot of abuse. Be sure to not only use the dryer frequently but also turn the filter often to keep the drier from being clogged up with gunk.
